Make everything you do better by understanding the people you're doing it
for.
Born out of a fascination with documenting the frustration, lost time, and occasional
embarrassment due to confusion with a door handle, instructions on a website or paying for
parking, and having to design our own website with humans in mind, we had to ask ourselves, HOW can you better design for humans?
Finding Justin Knecht of the Centre for Design Innovation in Sligo, we asked him to show us how human centred design has an impact on the way we see and interact with the world.
What have past participants said about events with Justin?
"Like the interaction exercises ... I hate sitting and listening for hours solid. Thanks."
"It has taken the blinkers off to what design can be and do for the business."
Why should I care?
The goal is to help demystify the design process and provide tools that allow you to use design thinking for yourselves.
If you have ever had to design or develop anything that will either convey a message or be
used by humans, from physical objects to computer software, this event will
make a lasting impact on how you design for, and interact with the physical and nonphysical
world around you.
Or if you just love learning, meeting people and sharing ideas, you will come away with a new awareness of the design challenges in your everyday life, and some new people to talk about it with.
Format of event: 2.00-3.30: Talks and interactive exercises where participants will have a chance to do fun, practical tasks in groups, giving you the tools to develop a way of thinking towards better understanding people, technology and business, for an insight into the world of human centred
design
3.30-4.30: Meetforeal mingling session where attendees can chat with
like-minded folk.
