Call to destroy skinny/ripped internet ads

get ripped with this secret
The web seems to be littered with these images of built abs and skinny women, cartoon versions and real versions, with heads and without. They flash at me from every website I visit. Google must be laughing all the way to the bank.

I know there will always be people trying to prey on the human desire to be thin and muscular, but do they have to be so successful? Even temporarily so?

I presume that this is all part of some get-rich-quick scheme - you can set up your own landing page, and you will get paid a commission on the clicks to buy the Extreme Acai and ColoBlast tablets from the guy who is selling them. The fact that those involved are able to fork out for more Google Ads means that their propaganda must be working, and it both pains me and makes me laugh that we poor humans are dumb enough to believe almost anything.

Here is the article I was directed to. Anyone with a brain in their heads would recognise that it was not written by any self respecting journalist, but it seems that not all of us are blessed with a brain.

The story is about a journalist deciding to do a four week trial of the stuff to try and lose weight. She didn't believe it would work, what a surprise, but it did! And she lost loads of weight, much to the envy of her fellow journalists who had passed on the opportunity.

Check out the terms and conditions that were posted below the "article". I have highlighted the especially interesting bits:

TERMS AND CONDITIONS CAREFULLY READ AND AGREE TO PURCHASE TERMS BELOW BEFORE ORDERING:

I don't know if this stuff works - the placebo effect is pretty powerful no matter what unregulated garbage you are filling your body with, but I just have one question - if it works so well, why all the lies and mischievous marketing tactics?

I guess the only policemen of the web are those of us who are using it. By our browsing and purchasing behaviour we have the power to keep certain things propagating, or kill them dead, so it occurs to me that if all of us techies, who spend way more time on the net than most, could make a conscious effort to click on the ads which annoy us most, only to click away without purchasing anything, then the creators of such nonsense wouldn't be able to pay their Google ads bills and they would go broke quicker! So who's with me?

P.S: I know I could use an ad blocker, but I don't want to be devoid of influence from these marvellous creators of junk - they entertain me, and provide me with material for a blog - so the only reason I ask is that I am getting BORED of this particular persuasive content, and I want a new flurry of internet ads to be entertained by - just not those teeth whitener ones, please!!

Must say I am using lot of block ads staff, so those things are not bothering me. Actually I try to avoid them as much as possible. But it may be true that some inspiration comes with this ballast too.
I should prob just install one... less distractions right? ;)
